A bus was swept away by the violent floods of Oued Tata, caused by heavy storm rains that fell on Friday evening in the province of Tata. This tragedy resulted in the death of two people, while 13 passengers were rescued and 14 others are still missing, according to a provisional report by local authorities.
A source told Le Site info that one of the victims was a nurse working at the health center in the commune of Akka Ighane. Before she lost her life, the young woman had posted videos on Facebook, calling on the authorities to intervene. Her body was found by civil protection services and transferred to the morgue.
These exceptional storm rains caused unprecedented floods in several rivers, with a flow reaching 2,300 cubic meters per second (m³/s) for Oued Tata and 1,900 m³/s for Oued Zguid. Many material damages were reported in the affected areas, including:
- The total or partial collapse of some houses, previously evacuated.

Public authorities, along with all concerned departments and various interveners, have mobilized all necessary logistical and human resources to respond immediately to this critical situation and provide assistance to citizens.
