Recent rains boost reservoir levels in Morocco

Several dams in the Kingdom have experienced a significant increase in their water levels due to recent rainfall.
In this regard, the Oued El Makhazn dam, one of the largest dams in northern Morocco, has seen a noticeable recovery. On Wednesday, the region recorded significant rainfall, resulting in about 310,000 cubic meters of water flowing into the dam in just 24 hours.
As a result, the dam’s filling rate has reached around 68.8% currently, reflecting an improvement in water stock. Data shows that the current volume of the dam's reserve is 462.8 million cubic meters, which enhances its role in supplying the region with drinking and irrigation water.
Similarly, the Idriss I and Ahmed El Hansali dams also saw significant increases in the volume of water flowing into them, thanks to the rainfall that affected several regions of the Kingdom since Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
