Morocco Faces Extreme Heatwave: Temperatures Soar Beyond 45°C in Several Regions

Since the start of the week, Morocco has been hit by an exceptional heatwave, with temperatures exceeding 45°C in many southern and inland regions such as Marrakech, Beni Mellal, Smara, and Sidi Slimane.
According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, this phenomenon is caused by a desert heat low extending northward, bringing dry and hot air masses even to Atlantic coastal cities like Casablanca and Safi.
The heatwave is expected to persist through Saturday. A slight drop in temperature is forecast between Sunday and Tuesday in the northern and central areas, while the southeastern regions will continue to experience extreme heat.
